On Saturday, February 19, 2011, the Taylor County Sportsman Club along with help from the Harper Lake Association, Chelsea Conservation Club, Rib Lake Fish and Game Association, Westboro Conservation Club and Silver Creek Sportsmans Club built 27 fish cribs on South Harper Lake. These cribs will create habitat for fish and many other species of aquatic life in the lake for many years to come. The cribs will remain on the ice until Spring break up. They will then be towed by boat to pre-established locations by DNR fishery personnel and sunk below the water surface to a safe depth. The Taylor County Sportsmans Club encourages local lake assoc. members to contact them if they would like fish cribs for the year 2012.
